Should you be unfortunate enough to find your vehicle with a flat tyre, give us a call at Hometyre, we will come to you to repair the puncture it at all possible. The type of repair we carry out is called a permanent repair and is made to British standards. A mushroom plug is put through the hole and glued in place from the inside of the tyre. This can only be carried out in the central 3/4 of of the tread area. We cannot do repairs on the shoulders or the sidewall of the tyre, and cannot repair Runflat tyres. A permanent repair when done correctly should last for the life of the tyre. Be aware that some places do what is called a temporary repair, where a coil of string & glue is pushed through the hole from the outside. This type of repair is generally carried out by roadside emergency services as a get you home repair only, and it is only supposed to last for approx. 200 miles. Try not to drive on a flat tyre as this will soon destroy the tyre, even going a short distance.
