Part worn tyres
Many people are looking to save money by buying part worn tyres at the moment. One such customer had 4 tyres fitted to his Fiat last week, he then called me out 2 days later to show me the tyre in the photo. It had blown up like a balloon, luckily for him it happened while he was at home, rather than driving. Not wanting to take a chance, he then had me fit a new tyre and check his other 3 tyres. I found the following; Tyre 2 had a 20mm split in the tread (MOT failure) Tyre 3 had a screw still embedded in the inner shoulder (MOT failure) Tyre 4 had 6 mm of tread on the outside but only 2 mm of tread on the inside, so only 0.4 mm to go. He had paid £80 for this trash, now he wants new tyres all around. These are some of the reasons we do not supply part worn tyres. They are generally dangerous, as you do not know there history or what patch up work has been done to them. HOMETYRE only supply and fit new tyres, and the latest checks show that per mm of tread they are almost the same or less than part worns to buy.
