Cocktail liqueurs for your 'make at home' cocktail collection. We divide liqueurs up into the following categories, each with their own distinctive flavours ;    -    Creamy            (Baileys, Advocaat etc.)    -    Spirit based      (Malibu, Tia Maria, Drambuie etc.)      -    Fruit based       (Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Limoncillo etc.)      -    Herbal              (Benedictine, Chartreuse, Pernod etc.)    -    Cocktail liqueurs (creme de whatever ........, fruit brandies etc)The ones featured here are cocktail liqueurs. They are generally not drunk on their own, and appear most commonly as cocktail ingredients. The majority of cocktail liqueurs are made by either Dutch (Bols, De Kuyper) or French companies (Marie Brizard). The full line up in our picture include ; Orange Curacao, Creme de Bananes, Creme de Menthe, Blue Curacao (orange flavoured and fantastic ble colour), Apricot Brandy, Cherry Brandy, white creme de cacao (great in the Grasshopper), brown creme de cacao (needed for Brandy Alexanders), Parfait Amour (vanilla flavour, but interesting lilac colour) and Peach brandy. If you want to make cocktails at home, you will need some of these little beauties at some point. The good news is that because they're not in the premier league of liqueurs compared with the big brands such as Drambuie, Tia Maria, Archers, Cointreau, Grand Marnier and they're also relatively light in alcohol - they are fairly inexpensive. Best place to find most of them is at one of the large grocery retailers superstores. Happy mixing.
