Sat. 8 June 2013 (10am - 4.30pm approx) Willow Basket Making for Complete Beginnerswith JOHN HART Due to demand this very popular workshop is returning for the second time in 2013 . . "I've been making baskets and growing willow here at Gleanings for the last 5 years and have enjoyed the whole process. It's the sort of skill you can get lost in. During the day I will teach you to make a small basket that you will be proud of, describing the pitfalls and how to overcome them, instruct on the amount of soaking required, and teach borders and the different weaves that I use. Also, we will look at the hedgerow plants you can use and take a trip to my willow beds.This course will give you a chance to dip your toe in the water and be ready to create baskets of your own design.Cost of Day: £35 which includes all materials, refreshments and snacks.
