Sat. 6 - Sun. 7 July 2013Enamelling with JILL LEVENTONDuring the Day 1 of this course Jill will give an introduction to Health & Safety when working with enamelling equipment and materials. This will be followed by Basic techniques, such as cleaning copper, sifting enamel onto copper, firing, transparent and opaque enamels, plus experimentation with some or all of the following (dependant on students' inclinations): Stencils, Sgraffito, Decoration media, Rubber stamps, Using Wires/Cloisonné, Wet laying and High firing. On the second day students may choose from the following:On Day 2 students may choose to - Explore one technique further, Continue exploring all the techniques or design and execute at least one piece to a high standard.Jill will bring her library of enamelling books and design source books so that students have access to inspiration sources. She can also advise on 'what next' if anyone wishes to take the craft further.Cost of Weekend: £120, includes home-cooked lunches, plus snacks and refreshments.
