Timex Sponsors Tee Time
Leading watch manufacturer 'Timex' chose to work with one of the UK's foremost clock manufacturers Good Directions Ltd when they decided to sponsor the 2006 Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, South Africa. The tournament was inaugurated in 1981 and officially gained world golf ranking points for the first time in 2006. Twelve clocks were manufactured in all, one for each of the Grand Stands at the golf course designed by world renowned golfer Gary Player. Each clock measured 550mm in diameter with a black and white dial featuring the Timex Indiglo brand name. To prevent damage from wayward tee shots the clocks were housed within an impact resistant casing and fitted with a state of the art lithium battery powered mechanism and controller to ensure easy installation and accurate time keeping.
