About Me and Sarah Swirled Belly Dance
I am a single business owner (Sarah) and I teach belly dance, as well as offering other related services . Over the years I have found that I just love sharing this dance with people, whether it's teaching them to dance too, or describing the dance and the different styles that can be found within the unbrella term "belly dance". As a teacher, there is nothing which makes me happier than seeing students develop, so I encourage them to take part in group dances with me at local haflas so that they learn how to work together as a team, as well as developing their skills along the way. There are so many benefits to learning belly dance, and medical personnel have also started to understand the advantages of learning this dance, and often encourage doing so. It isn't just the obvious things like it's beautiful, graceful and emotive, which of course are true. It also allows women to express themselves in a feminine way. It allows us to be emotional, graceful and elegant. It allows us to explore our deepest selves and to explore our many different characters and personalities, from the shy girl to the strong, powerful woman, and everything in between. Watch the video posted to this profile and you will see SOME of the many physical and mental benefits. There are even more than those shown! Belly dance can be learnt by everyone. You don't have to be the fittest person, you don't have to be thin, you don't have to have co-ordination. What you DO need is an enthusiasm to learn, to have fun, and to grow. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I am still learning after 25 years of learning this dance. Belly dance is a fun way of introducing yourself to a new world, of connecting with something completely different yet something which deep down is within us all. Whether it be the music which can awaken your soul, or the movements which feel strange yet familiar too, there is something for everyone if you let it in. Belly dance isn't just about "learning the moves". This is important, of course, but it goes deeper than that. There are many different styles you can learn, there are many different instruments to get to know and to learn about, from how they sound to how the reverberate in your body. And it's learning how to connect the moves to the music to make a seamless beautiful style all your own, because belly dance isn't a choreographed dance in its pure form, but one which is individual to each person depending on how they interpret the music and feel it connecting with them. So what's stopping you from joining me? Not only is belly dance fun, but it's good for you, both body and soul
