The Ben Doran Hotel, Tyndrum
With its stunning setting in the mountain village of Tyndrum, the Ben Doran Hotel is a great place to stay. Here you can sit and admire the panoramic outlook across the glens and mountains. The hotel is served by three lifts. All bedrooms are large with en-suite facilities and modern tasteful furnishings. Each room has a TV, hair dryer and tea-making facilities and also boasts fabulous views. A number of Superior and Premium twin/double rooms are also available. For indoor entertainment, there is a hotel lounge and bar, a quiet room and large dance floor - the focal point of the evening entertainment. Take a few steps outside and you'll find yourself in the hotel's sheltered seven acre gardens, complete with mountain stream, sweeping lawns and lily ponds - a haven for wildlife, and a starting point for wonderful scenic walks. The village of Tyndrum is on all the main North, South, East and West roads and railways. A savage battle was fought on the 'King's Field' Dalrigh, just outside the village in the early 1300's. Robert the Bruce lost his regal kilt clasp to the MacDougalls, who still parade it around 700 years later!!
