FPB team starts Three Peaks Challenge
The challenge will involve a team of four attempting to conquer Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 48 hours. Team leader and FPB IT Manager, Kevin Dowle, said the money raised will go to a great cause. "Since 1977, when the CCLG was created, there has been a progressive trend of increased survival for children treated in CCLG centres. The CCLG's work has contributed greatly to the encouraging trends for children with cancer in the UK." Mr Dowle, has been putting in the hours organising and training for the event. "We are being realistic, but hope to complete the challenge well within the 48-hour timescales we have set ourselves. We start at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning with Ben Nevis, then it's on to Scafell Pike that evening and we hope to be safely down from Snowdon on Sunday afternoon." Last year, the FPB raised more than £2,500 for the CCLG and helped pay for delegates to attend the charity's annual conference.
