Foundation Certificate in Contemporary Vocal Teaching
The Foundation Certificate is a great introduction course for teachers with no previous experience, and leads directly to the Higher Certificate. one of our most popular courses, and is particularly suited to those who have some teaching experience, but can also be taken by beginner teachers. If you are a singer age 17 or over, with experience in performing and a passion for teaching but no real idea where to start, then this course may be right for you. It is very much an entry-level course but one which will nonetheless equip you with everything you need to take your first steps into the world of vocal coaching. Your first unit of study covers some essential skills in breath technique, voice support and resonance, and guides you through your first few months of teaching in an easy-to-follow way. From here, you will learn to expand and develop what you teach based on sound teaching principles explored in your second unit of study.In addition, you will be taught how to approach consultations with prospective students, how to create a range of useful resources and how to ensure that you are complying with basic legal requirements as a self-employed teacher. Throughout your studies, you will be encouraged to teach on a small scale, and your teaching skills will be assessed 'live' via Skype at the end of your course.
