Higher Certificate in Contemporary Vocal Teaching
The Higher Certificate is a beginners / improvers course covering the essentials of teaching contemporary vocals. This course is accredited and tutor-supported.If you are a singer age 18 or over, with experience in performing and a passion for teaching, or perhaps you already teach but don't have a formal qualification, then this course may be right for you. The course gives you everything you need to consolidate your existing experience and skills, or alternatively equips novice teachers to start out in the industry with the confidence that comes from good quality training.You will learn all of the most essential component skills in vocal teaching, including the core principles of singing, plus how to approach warm ups in a way that does much more than simply prepare the voice to sing. You also have the choice of either studying the adolescent voice or how to teach younger children.In addition, you will study some important practical teaching skills, so that you know how to pass on your experience and new-found knowledge in a truly effective way.  Throughout your studies, you will be encouraged to teach on a small scale, and your teaching skills will be assessed 'live' via Skype at the end of the course.  5 A* - C grade GCSEs (or equivalent) are required for this course, plus a performance CV.
