Vehicle Servicing
At Youngs Garage we know the importance of regular servicing of a vehicle. Too often we see the results of brake pads that have been left and now need Discs and pads. Worse still the engine that has been run low on oil or in the case of many new Diesel cars since 2006 the wrong oil has been added. Did you know that if you don't put the correct grade of low ash oil into many diesel cars now you can be looking at a £ 1,000-1,500 repair bill when the diesel particulate filter needs to be replaced? We can service brand new vehicles less than 3 years old. We will normally fit manufacturers parts during the service to ensure that your manufacturers warranty is not invalidated should a problem arise on your vehicle. We recommend the use of high quality Motor flush during an oil change. Unlike some of the questionable products you can by at some motor factors our products are backed up by a manufacturers guarantee, contain an effective EP additive which protects the engine during the cleaning process and ensures that the engine is clean when clean oil and a new filter are fitted. During our full service the wheels are removed and the brake assemblies are stripped and free'd off to ensure continued effective operation until the next service. Worn brake componets are identified and the customer advised on the best course of action. Dependenat on the customers vehicle use the advice may be to return after a few 1,000 miles for new parts or to renew immediately. Checks on your antifreeze condition and strength are made and the mosture content of your brake fluid is checked. Other filters are inspected/ changed as necessary and manufacturer specific checks are made to ensure your vehicle is ready for another year. In addition and importantly an overall assessment on the vehicle is made and longer interval replacement work such as timing belts are assessed and reported. Service lights are reset and a fully itomised bill is produced detailing what has been done and identifying advisory points both now and for the future. Its all about the customer making an informed decision on the vehicle. They have the knowledge of the vehicles likley use, their own personnal finances etc, we are just here to provide the facts on what we have found and the potential options available. If it is possible and cheaper we will look to repair a part where a fast fit centre or a main agent will simply fit a new replacement. We feel the most important part of this process is informing you the customer of the facts, any costs likely to be incurred and allow you to retain control of costs whilst ensuring your vehicle is as safe and reliable as it can be.
