Bowling at Woodbridge: Keeping it green with Suffolk and Norfolk Cladding! At the end of the 2009 bowling season, Woodbridge Bowls Club started to consider the idea of an awning along the entire length of the original clubhouse building. The idea was to provide additional space for when visiting clubs were playing and at the same time provide shelter for its members in the event of inclement weather. The club held a Special Meeting of members and a unanimous decision was made to go ahead with the plan, providing the extension was functional from a bowling perspective and in-keeping with the clubs original design. This was not an easy task, fortunately, the club’s Chairman, Dr. John Charlton, was able to provide a first class design that blended perfectly with the original structure. Although quite a challenge with regard to both design and construction, the project was finally completed by S and N Cladding on time, within budget and to a high specification, ready for the 2010 season. The club are very grateful to the £1,000.00 grant made available from Suffolk County Council’s Locality Budget, thanks to the kind assistance of Councillor Caroline Page. Despite the very individual design of the awning and the challenges it presented, the club was very impressed with the speed and efficiency provided by S & N Cladding and delighted with the stylish addition to the club’s facilities.
