With Purpose built Koi ponds I employ not just all of my skills, which for this one, included digger driving (as with all pond and landscape work) as well as the usual blockwork and hone my skills in laying shaped steel reinforcement mesh on bats or piggy backs, to create the interrelated inverted domed bowls for the bottom drains and as this pond was 7 feet deep had to be specific with coverage of concrete as well the finish. It held over 11000 gallons when finished. I also constructed a vortex particle seperator for the removal of solids which was 9ft deep. There are 5 mainline vales in this construction for cleaning the pond system and purging various chambers as well as cleaning the bottom of the pond itself. The timber decking was made from treated timber where each individual chamber of the complex filter system could be cleaned individually and the waste water drained off. The upper Pond was also part of the filtration and had not just reeds but also cress which acted as a natural cleansing system. I am able to construct Arbours, covered walkways, hot houses, studios (I have an added background in sound insulation) as well as fencing and field gates of any size.
