Extraspace Solutions are to commence on the new Modular Sports Pavilion for Brighton
Extraspace Solutions commenced working with Brighton College in December 2011, with a contract awarded January 2012 for the provision of a new modular sports pavilion on the East Brighton Park site. The design specification included for the provision of a 424sq.mt modular building, landscaping, tennis court upgrade and coach drop off area.The modular pavilion will provide four changing rooms, shower and toilet facilities in addition to a refreshment/social area for use by the players and spectators of the sports that will take place on the surrounding pitches and tennis courts.The design of the steel framed building sought to minimise the impact on the surrounding areas and the view from the South Downs by keeping the mass of the building single storey and locating the building within a natural dip in the landscaping. Additionally the use of fully glazed aluminium framed curtain walling to the entrance foyer, around the social area and the side entrance brings an element of transparency to the building, which is aided by the green roof and clearstorey glazing on the roof.
