Winter tyres (Snow tyres)
Now is the time to order your winter tyres while stocks are high and there is plenty of choice. Once the first frosts hit, especially in the North of England, stock levels will drop dramatically, leaving little choice for us in the South. You can select a fitting date sometime in the futue, the choice is yours.... Winter tyres or 'cold weather tyres' are ideal for use in the UK from November through to April, or any time the temperature is below 7 degrees Celsius. The rubber compound used in winter tyres along with the additional 'Sipes' (Small slits in the tread) keep the tyre more supple during the cold months, allowing it to grip the road better. Summer tyres harden and they then tend to slip on the roads, giving less grip. Remember, that our tyres are fully inclusive of : Mobile fitting, wheel balancing, a replacement rubber valve, old tyre disposal (If required) & vat. If you are planning a trip to Europe this winter, then you will find that many European countries state that it is Mandatory to have winter tyres fitted from Nov to March.
