This evening you will be served dinner at the castle. After breakfast this morning you will be riding along ancient paths and through chestnut woodland towards the beautiful Lake Bolsena. This is a fantastic spot holding breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape stretching from the crater of Lake Bolsena on one side, to the hills surrounding Lake Mezzano on the other. After a short ride along the border of the lake we will arrive at the beach and have a canter. Lunch will be served on the terrace of a typical trattoria placed right on the beach. If it is warm enough, you can have a swim before heading off for the afternoons riding.  As we head back to the castle we will pass through the archeological area of Pianezze and through great vineyards and back to the top of the crater which provides a spectacular view and a wonderful opportunity to take some photographs you will cherish for ages. Also, this evening dinner will be served at the castle.Today you will be riding to Lake Mezzano. This is an area of awesome interest both historically and naturally. The lake was formed in a volcanic crater and is now a historical site with fascinating traces of human settlements dating all the way back to the pre-etruscan era. We will be riding through the Tuscan countryside and woodlands which surround Onano. Here you will have the opportunity to canter down a wonderful track surrounded by trees. At the top of this plateau you will have a chance to take in the spectacular scenery before carrying on up past the local farms and into chestnut woodland on the hillsides that surround the lake. On top of the hill (overlooking the lake) we will stop for lunch at a small country restaurant where the horses can enjoy a rest in their shady corral whilst we eat, relax and maybe enjoy a refreshing swim. In the afternoon we will be riding back following the old Brigands trail, soaking in the culture of a few historical sights along the way. This evening you will once again enjoy a splendid dinner at the castle, which by this time you will have grown most fond of.After breakfast this morning we will be riding to Sorano from the castle. With the Tuscan mountains sitting peacefully in the background we will ride along level tracks which permit a steady trot and a little canter. Lunch will be in a fantastic historical spot next to the ruins of the medieval castle named Vitozza. A picnic will be layed out with tables and chairs on a lawn on top of the hill. Post lunch we will ride along a gentle path to Sorano, where you will be spending the night in a hotel which is situated inside the medieval Orsini fortress of Sorano. This location is incredible, positioned on the side of a gorge overlooking the ancient village below. Tonight, dinner will be served in a nice little restaurant beside the fortress.Today we will be enjoying an entire day of riding in this truly special area of Sorano with its age old roads, narrow and cut into the tough rock. Scattered throughout this countryside, archaeological sites with Etruscan tombs will quietly remind us of how ancient this stunning land really is. We will pass through the village of Pitigliano bordering the ancient walls. Lunch will be another picnic on the hillside near Pitigliano, have you even had a picnic that could top that? This afternoon we will head back to Sorano and enjoy dinner in the restaurant. After breakfast this morning we depart Sorano and head towards the castle of Proceno. We will be riding up through the rocky hills and down into the valley of the river Lente which has an array of magnificient views scattered perfectly around the water. A picnic lunch will be served near Castellottieri. After lunch we will ride uphill to Proceno, where we will be staying for the night. Proceno is a beautifully constructed 11th century castle at the very heart of the village. It was once last stronghold of the pope before Tuscan enemy territory strategically positioned itself above the old roman road. This morming we will be riding down into the river Stridolone valley and up the other side through the hilly woods that will take us to an 18th century ex-convent. After a relaxed lunch stop our ride takes us through the most unspoiled of Tuscan countryside, fit for your last days riding. We will cross the Montorio game reserve where you have a good chance of spotting pheasant, fallow-deer and wild boars. We will reach the outskirts of the village of Onano and the 16th century countryside church of Madonna delle Grazie from where we will take in a beautiful view
