Egress is a progressive 21st Century educational organisation which specialises in Primary curriculum design solutions. We believe that too much teacher time is taken up on tasks which do not relate to learning. This can lead teachers to have less time to plan and resource engaging and relevant learning experiences. At Egress we have developed a small but experienced core of professional educationalists and teachers to ensure that this is possible.Opportunities for our future young citizens are 'global' where international understanding and awareness is vital. In the UK we share a strong and rich multicultural society. The ability to work with and relate to different cultures is crucial in our world today. Global and environmental awareness is something learners need to discover both from their own experiences and those of others. Some things remain secure and core values of respect, trust and honesty are valued in all societies and cultures around the world. Co-operation and teamwork also play a vital part in the process. Knowledge, skills and understanding are the keys to unlocking barriers and misunderstanding. Egress has created learning opportunities based on solid progression and assessments which we believe address these issues and are fundamental to future success. We have to recognise that the way we educate our young people and equip them with the necessary skills for achievement has to change. We do not live in 'boxes' and education cannot be taught in a compartmentalised manner.Egress topic plans provide cross-curricular lesson ideas that can be adapted by the individual practitioner to reflect and suit the location of their own learning environment.Each topic plan overview has at its core a key subject focus. Lesson ideas are thoroughly researched and web based links provide opportunities to extend and utilise an extensive range of additional resources. We aim to utilise ecological and sustainable learning where possible and to link all the topics together within the topic overview. However, we do recognise that this is not always possible so we do not try to 'shoe horn' solutions. Subject areas and individual school priorities will remain on teacher's timetables! As the year progresses Egress topic plans cover all the subject areas required in each year group allowing progression between year groups and key stages.
