VAE Kenya offers predominantly young people a unique opportunity to live and work in rural Kenya, usually as part of their gap year. We provide only poor rural schools with teachers where there is the most need. VAE is closely associated with HSK, a charity that builds and upgrades schools and we are very closely involved with local street boys. VAE sponsors and looks after many children, usually orphans, puts them through school or tries to set them up in business.VAE is not a normal "gap-year company" but an organisation that aims to make a difference to the thousands of people we come in contact with. The Green House in Kenya is the "VAE family" home and is always busy. It can however act as a useful base for anyone wanting to know more about aspects of rural Kenyan life and especially education. Here you have the opportunity to actually live with and talk with local people in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know "our boys" as people.VAE is unique in that it is part of its local community and has huge influence as well as responsibilities. We can guarantee that if you become part of VAE we will change your attitudes for life.
