The Gaia Trust believes that wildlife conservation alone is not enough, but that people must be engaged and informed in order for biodiversity to be valued and preserved by future generations, and that land can be managed sustainably through changing times We believe that this lack of contact and understanding is a long term threat to the conservation of our natural places, which is why we encourage managed public access on our properties, run volunteering groups at our key sites, and are keen to develop community involvement locally Through the properties now under our protection in Cornwall and Devon, we work to ensure that the land is appropriately managed in each case, including the active reversion of intensively farmed land
