Situated on the outskirts of the small village of Auldgirth  near Dumfries, John Mellis's apiary is ideally located for his bees to collect their pollen from a vast array of blossoms. He has over 200 hives with an average of 50,000 bees in each, gathering pollen throughout the year. In the summer some of the hives are moved to Perthshire where they gather pollen from the heather moors to make the fantastic and unique Scottish Heather Honey. The honeys that John produces are totally additive free and each one has its own individual flavour and character.
