I am an experienced consultant and developer of business applications, living and working in Devon. Over the years, I have designed and developed information systems for a wide variety of businesses, ranging from small enterprises to major blue chip companies. I provide consultancy and advice on the practical issues of implementing new systems and applications, and have a successful track record in introducing new technologies and methods to streamline business processes. I focus on the development of web-based database systems, using industrial strength, multi-user, scaleable database technologies, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle. I have a reputation for avoiding jargon, and involving end users at every stage in a project. I have considerable experience in the design of large database applications, and implementing them in a user friendly and innovative style, both for desktop and internet/intranet based applications. I have also re-engineered many proprietary desktop systems to make them available online. I have built many commercial websites from scratch, including laboratory applications, online training, online course registration and certification, youth counselling, job vacancies, vehicle trading, dating websites, search engines, realtime process monitoring, e-commerce, and manufacturing. I am an enthusiastic and productive developer, I enjoy what I do, and I take pride in doing a good job.
