Harrogate and gardens are almost synonymous. Not only does the town have several splendid examples of municipal gardens (the Montpellier, Crescent, Valley and Prospect Gardens are essential on any list) but it also hosts two major flower shows in Spring (April) and Autumn (September). The spa town is pleasant to visit with good shops, theatres and eating places.
