New replacement house in an area of outsanding natural beauty
Tempietto's design for this new house includes an indoor swimming pool, gym and snooker room.  Planning permission was achieved for a significantly greater floor area than that of the building it replaced by demonstrating that the building would have no greater impact on the surrounding landscape.  This was achieved by sinking the building into its south facing sloping site, cladding it in stone and taking grass over its roof.  The accommodation faces onto an elliptical courtyard so that despite being buried in the ground, all the habitable rooms are light and airy.  There is a stunning glass staircase in the hall and wood panelling in the snooker room which we took great pleasure in designing. As well as achieving planning permission we adminstered the building contract taking the project throgh from inception to completion.
