Benrhos Ltd - 2 Day Industrial Temperature Training Course 18th - 19th April 2012 and 10th - 11th October 2012 Introduction Benrhos Ltd is offering a 2 day residential course in Industrial temperature measurement run by Mr Dave Ayres near Dolgellau North Wales. The course is aimed at temperature professionals who use all aspects of temperature measurement in their work but require a greater depth of knowledge. The course covers a diverse range of subjects to encompass those who calibrate on-site or in labs as well as lab managers or those in industry wishing to expand their capability. Learning is provided through a series of power point presentations and practical demonstrations as well as giving students an opportunity try equipment from leading manufactures. Problem solving as well as opportunities for students to ask questions related to particular work related experience are provided. During the course individuals will be accommodated for two nights at a local B&B called Biker's Retreat. Food will also be provided including, two breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner. The course is limited to eight places, therefore early booking is vital. Please read below to discover the main topics of the course: Main Training Areas What is temperature? What forms 'The International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90)'. How thermocouples work. How platinum resistance thermometers work. What is a thermistor? On-site temperature measurement. The 3 methods of calibrating contact thermometers. Basic uncertainties for site and laboratory measurements. Calibrating indicators by simulation. The calibration and use of portable metal block calibrators. The 2 types of surface temperature. Presenting results. Managing a temperature laboratory. Current research and developments in temperature measurement. Learning outcomes Following our training course you will be armed with the full range of skills to take you further into your chosen area of industrial temperature measurement. You will gain a certificate as well as entitlement to further support. You will also be provided with a full set of course notes and a copy of the presentation slides. Lecturer Information The courses will be held by Dave Ayres, highly respected temperature expert, INAB lead assessor and external temperature assessor for UKAS and ISRAC. Dave also conducts lectures in the subject of industrial temperature at Universities as well as conducting onsite training for many customers in the subject.
