We provide a wide range of performance and training opportunities including commissions of new work from both Wales based and international choreographers, training intensives mentored by international artists, national and international touring opportunities and professional development summer schools, workshops and seminars We strive to provide artists with development opportunities that support their individual artistry, offering creative and technical mentoring, critical discourse and a platform in which to examine, question and value their own practice Our mission is to support, nurture, encourage and promote the careers of independent dancers and choreographers in Wales, and develop a strong, vibrant, and diverse dance sector We believe that artists not only need the opportunity to develop their work in a supported and nurtured environment, they require inspiration, challenge and feedback Through inviting innovative tutors and mentors with inspiring approaches to work in Wales, WID supports continuous professional development of our artists that enables them to acquire new skills, and provides opportunities to refresh and deepen understanding of their practice
