Qigong Craven Arms
Pronounced chee-gung, Qigong has its roots in ancient China, some 4,000 years ago. In our modern, hi-tech, always-on world, if you're stressed or tense, if you want to feel better in yourself, if you want to enhance your physical and mental potential, then Qigong could be for you. The movements of Qigong are designed to relax you and get you out of your head and into your body. They are slow and gentle, easy for almost anyone to do, whatever your age* or state of health, as they can be done standing or sitting. Beyond the benefits of the physical movements is the capacity for Qigong to directly and positively affect your qi, the energy of your body. You don't have to believe in qi or be able to sense it directly (although the practice of Qigong will help you to do so), the movements themselves take care of all that. In the Chinese medical model, blocked qi is what causes illnesses. From a western perspective, stress and tension lead to all sorts of medical problems. In Qigong, you learn to unblock stagnant qi and release stress and tension for yourself. I mainly teach the Dragon & Tiger Qigong system with elements of Opening the Energy Gates - both systems were taught to me by Daoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis. If Qigong sounds as if it's something you might like to try, please get in touch to book a free taster class. *Classes are for over 18s.
