Atlantis Gym & Spa is an independent, family-owned health and wellness club in Tiptree, Essex. Founded by Sean and Sue in 2005, we've spent over twenty years building a friendly local club where members of every age, ability and goal feel genuinely welcome. Inside the club, you'll find a fully equipped gym with 22 cardio stations, free weights, resistance machines, a functional training zone and a dedicated boxing and kickboxing area. Connected to the gym is our spa — a large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi — used both for post-workout recovery and by spa-only members who come purely to relax. Our weekly fitness class timetable runs Monday to Saturday and includes Pilates, Yoga, Fitness Yoga, Aqua, Total Tone, Legs Bums & Tums, BoxFIT HIIT, Body Blast, Boot Camp, Body Groove and our friendly Nifty Fifties class for over-50s. All classes are included with full membership. We also offer a complete range of beauty and wellness treatments — facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, eye treatments, spray tans, massage — and private Reiki therapy sessions with Sean, a Reiki Master Practitioner who studied in China under Master Yu Tian Jian and has over 30 years of experience. Open seven days a week. Free on-site parking. Membership options to suit every life and budget — single, joint, student, off-peak, weekend, and Gym Only or Spa Only plans. Beauty treatments and Reiki sessions are open to non-members as well as members. We welcome members from across Tiptree, Colchester, Maldon, Witham, Kelvedon and mid-Essex. 4.6 stars on Google. What are your opening hours?
Atlantis Gym & Spa is open seven days a week. Monday to Friday 6:30am to 9:00pm. Saturday 8:00am to 6:00pm. Sunday 9:00am to 3:00pm. Bank holiday, Christmas and Easter hours are published nearer the time.
How much does membership cost?
Memberships start from £30 per month (Weekend plan). Single full membership is £54.95/month on a 12-month contract; Joint full is £86.95/month. There's a one-off £14.95 joining fee. We also offer Gym Only or Spa Only, Off-Peak, Student (under 21) and annual plans.
What facilities are included with membership?
Full membership includes use of the gym floor (22 cardio stations, free weights, resistance machines, functional zone, boxing and kickboxing area), our swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and all group fitness classes. Beauty treatments and Reiki therapy sessions are charged separately.
Is your gym suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Atlantis has been welcoming complete beginners since 2005. Our team will give you a friendly equipment introduction, and our class timetable includes beginner-friendly options like Fit & Fun, our over-50s Nifty Fifties class, Aqua and Stretch Mobility & Core.
Do I need to book classes in advance?
Some classes need to be pre-booked, particularly Aqua and Pilates. Please ask at reception or check the timetable in the club

What is Reiki therapy?
Reiki is a gentle Japanese complementary therapy focused on relaxation, stress reduction and wellbeing. Private one-hour sessions at Atlantis are with Sean, a Reiki Master Practitioner with over 30 years of experience, who studied in China under Master Yu Tian Jian. Sessions are £60 and open to members and non-members.
Are beauty treatments open to non-members?
Yes — all our beauty and wellness treatments, including facials, massage, waxing, manicures, pedicures and spray tans, are available to non-members as well as members. Just book in advance by calling 01621 816955.
