Currently the SMRC run a selection of different championships which includes a very successful Legend Racing Car Championship, Mini Cooper Cup, Formula Ford 1600 Championship, XR2 Championship with Fiesta ST Cup, Classics Sports and Saloons Championship and Sports and Saloons Championship The SMRC organises and runs motor sport events, primarily at Knockhill Racing Circuit in East Central Scotland however many of the SMRC classes do travel down South to other racing circuits in the UK such as Croft, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, and Anglesey With Sir Jackie Stewart OBE as patron and Allan McNish as honorary president as well as members across a variety of different championships the SMRC has an involvment across the world at many different levels of motorsport
