Made by the Forge is a small, family run business, handcrafting solid wrought iron curtain poles, kitchen pan racks and designer lighting. It was founded in 2006 by farrier and blacksmith Richard Fishenden and myself, his wife and business partner Juliet. Our passion for quality is our inspiration to produce useful products that will last a lifetime. You can even see the individual hammer marks made by our blacksmiths making every item unique. Moving into an old country cottage meant that we had plenty of home decor projects to undertake. With Richard's skills, we were able to produce a range of traditional wrought ironwork, which retained the character of our old English home. This led to us opening a traditional blacksmith's forge where horse shoeing and blacksmithing are everyday activities. For the home, we've developed a classic range of products, all of which are hand forged in the time honoured way. They include wrought iron pan rails, utensil racks for the kitchen, wrought iron curtain poles, brackets and hold backs for window dressing. Our desire is to bring you the best ironwork products available for your home. This is why we are currently working with British designers Anthony Dickens and Chris Eckersley creating some unique and dazzling designer lighting and furniture. Richard can do anything with metal and has worked with high profile interior designers providing bespoke furniture.
