Founded early in the year of 2014 as an Unincorporated Association, the Southampton Sports Society was set up primarily to provide a city-wide sports day across all ages, backgrounds & many sports. In its founding document, the key aims of the society are to: Reduce obesity & related diseases by participation in Sports Increase active participation in Sports Raise community morale & spirit by providing low cost, highly effective events Raise awareness of local facilities The city wide Sports Day is the first event which is to be organised by the Southampton Sports Society and hopes to tackle the aims above, head on. Working with ActiveNation, who have graciously agreed to fund the event, we feel securely bolstered in our goals by being able to draw upon all the experience & structure that a large organisational Sports Charity brings.
