Appointed Person 2 Hour Course
Appointed Person Course.Where an employer's assesment of First Aid needs identifies that a First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement for an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements. This includes looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the Emergency Services when required. Arrangements should be made at all times for an Appointed Person to be available to undertake these duties when people are at work. In the absence of the First Aider, employers must appoint a person for this purpose. It should be remembered that Appointed Persons are not First Aiders and should not attempt to give First Aid for which they have not been trained.Appointed Person CourseModule 1 First Aid in the WorkplaceModule 2 ResponsibilitiesModule 3 Action in an emergencyAppointed Person Course SESSION PLANModule 1 First Aid in the WorkplaceModule content: RolesAims of First AidDefinition of First AidHealth & Safety regulationsRisk assessment of First Aid needsEquipment and facilitiesAccident reportingModule duration: 60 minutesModule 2 ResponsibilitiesModule content: Contacting the emergency servicesPrioritizing treatmentCommunicating with the casualtyModule duration: 45 minutesModule 3 Action in an emergencyModule content: Factors involved in an emergencyAssessing the scene for dangersSafety approachModule duration: 15 minutes
