Mark Muir has a gift
Mark Muir has a gift for listening hard to his client and then practically creating a design that fulfils their needs and desires. His ideas for an eco house were brilliant. I will definitely be working with Mark for any future projects. I cannot rate him highly enough. Wendy Andrew
'Huge success and experience'
Since I met Mark I have been constantly amazed by his obviously huge success and experience as an architect to date. His level of knowledge, expertise and professionalism are second to none and his passion for his industry is evident with every word he says. Mark is hugely committed to ensuring that clients realise not only their immediate dreams for their home, but also the dreams they didn't know they were going to have. How many architects can give you that? Mark is also dedicated to saving the Earth's resources through the use of alternative technologies and renewable energy sources and his beautiful work reflects just that. J. Bramble, East Devon
'What I had imagined.....
What I had imagined and visualised after moving in in 2002 and your ability to present your ideas coupled with our aspirations and presenting them into a conceivable and pragmatic layout enabled the possibility of creating the ambience and environment. Honestly without your help, experience and knack of putting ideas onto paper.. getting it approved and guidance ...perhaps we might still be knocking on local council doors to achieve what you have helped us create. 'just gained planning permission from our local authority. On to the next step!'
In our 60s and married for 7 years, my husband and I decided we wanted to make my house into 'our' house. We love where we live, but realised that our 1900 semi needed an element of future proofing with more living space downstairs. What do we do? A conservatory? A 'lean to'? We talked about what we wanted from an extension and even drew some of our own designs. Never ones to rush decisions, we dallied. Finally, we decided to look for an architect, an unprecedented step for both of us. We read reviews and looked locally, wanting someone who understood Devon and our period property but also had experience. We found Mark Muir and liked the clear, stepped approach outlined on his website. So we made the decision to contact him for a no commitment consultation. He arrived on his bike and just listened to us, taking in what we liked and what we are like! We found Mark to be thoughtful and sympathetic to our ideas, but offering the touch of pzazz we are after. We have now progressed from the first design, reviews and edits, conversations via zoom and have just gained planning permission from our local authority. On to the next step! J Craig, Exmouth

Always looking to innovate
Mark and the team have some fantastic and original design ideas and are always looking to innovate. Their ambition to incorporate as many eco credentials into the schemes, along with their openness to environmentally friendly concepts and products, means the client gets an amazing and sustainable build.
Mark knew where I was coming from
I have never really spoken professionally to an architect before; always imagined it would be a complicated business. Mark from the very beginning put me at ease. This was someone I could talk to, relate ideas that I thought were a little too inane to mention, and Mark knew where I was coming from. More importantly, he knew how to take my ideas and realise them on paper. He clearly understood my requirements, both in terms of what I expected from the project physically and ecologically but also how I wanted the building to function for me on a more subtle psychological sense.
Mark Muir is one of the leading , outstanding and best architect in the UK
Mark Muir is one of the leading , outstanding and best architect in the UK. A highly professional with in-depth knowledge in house remodelling. Mark can create extra or spare room from nowhere regardless of the size of your rooms. He help us to convert a 3 bedrooms detached house into 8 bedroom house without the need of new and costly foundations just by using loft space, remodelling the corridors and staircase layouts. Mark's knowledge of building regulations had massively contributed into the approval of our planning application without objections or request for changes from the planners or Building Control. An excellent Architect and I highly recommend his practice and services to anyone who want to add value to his / her house through house remodelling.
The perfect place to escape the city.
Their proposals mirrored a true reflection of where we were and provided an oasis of tranquility. Cool, calm, contemporary, sustainable and flooded with natural light. The perfect place to escape the city.
We are now finally building our dream house.
We were so pleased at how quickly Mark tuned into our needs and produced a really exciting scheme for us and continued to support us. We are now finally building our dream house.
What a day!
What a day! Even my husband, the ardent cynic, was impressed by your thinking and volume of knowledge. Extremely helpful! With your guidance and expertise, you have helped me to focus on actual priorities, listen to alternatives to meet budget and get my enthusiasm back into completing our new home.
Day-dreaming
Without Mark's prompting and guidance, and inspiring us to see what could be possible, we might still be day-dreaming.
We were very impressed
We were very impressed, great ideas and attention to detail. Incredibly patient and great communication. Simple and clear from start to finish, thank you.
