The Community Centre at the Heart of Stanwix in Carlisle
Stanwix Community Centre lies at the heart of Stanwix village, forming part of a traditional community hub alongside Stanwix Community Playgroup, Stanwix School, St. Michael’s Church, an optician’s practice, and The Crown Inn. Managed by the Stanwix Community Association (SCA), a voluntary organisation, the centre includes a purpose-built facility housing Stanwix Community Playschool on Church Street. Despite modest facilities, the centre remains central to community life. The SCA’s primary mission is to support the well-being of Stanwix residents, ensuring the Church Street buildings are maintained for the benefit of all.
