Free pitching.... and why we shouldn't succumb
Welcome to the world of the unpaid pitch...First publshed in Computer Arts Magazine, September 2008, read Jason Arber's compelling article on the perils of the 'free pitch' and how it continues to undermine creativity, trust and respect within our industry. We can all probably put up our hands and admit to having fallen prey to this form of free work, trying hard to secure that job we really want, but ultimatley it diminishes our skill, expertise and experience in a way no other industry would tollerate. Thankfully some real industry heavyweights are now backing a call for commissioners to kill off this practice. Will it work?
