Fungal infection can occur on both the skin on the foot and the nails. The fungus thrives in communal, warm, damp areas such as showers and changing rooms in gyms or swimming pools. The infection can present itself as dry, flaky skin or a white area in between the toes, which may or may not itch. Other common skin conditions are psoriasis or eczema which can be uncomfortable or unsightly.
