Problem nails - thick nails, fungal nails
 A fungal nail infection can be easily ignored as the individual may think its just a damaged nail. The nail can look thick and discoloured and often appear crumbly when cutting, or present with ridges. A thick nail can be due to damage to the growth plate or trauma to the nail.
