Silent Stories Therapies Overview

Silent Stories provides professional, child-led play therapy and therapeutic support for children, young people, and families across Inverclyde, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Dumbartonshire, and Glasgow. We understand that children do not always have the words to explain difficult feelings or experiences. Through play therapy, children are offered a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate space where they can explore emotions, experiences, relationships, and challenges through play and creativity. Silent Stories supports children experiencing a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties including: • Anxiety and worries • Anger and emotional outbursts • School anxiety and school avoidance • Difficult transitions and change • Trauma and difficult life experiences • Low confidence and self-esteem • Emotional regulation difficulties • Relationship and attachment difficulties • Behavioural changes • Bereavement and loss Sessions are child-led and tailored to each child’s individual needs, allowing children to engage at their own pace without pressure to talk before they feel ready. At Silent Stories, we are committed to creating a calm, consistent, and emotionally safe therapeutic environment where children feel understood, accepted, and supported. We work closely with parents and carers to support children’s emotional wellbeing and development while maintaining the child’s therapeutic space and confidentiality. Silent Stories is based in Inverclyde and supports families across West Scotland through compassionate, relationship-based therapeutic support focused on helping children feel safer, more confident, and more emotionally secure.
