The Cancer Wellbeing Service is a free support service for anyone affected by cancer, including Trust staff. No referral is needed. We understand that cancer impacts lives in many different ways and at different times, including physical, emotional, practical, social and financial effects. We offer support for people who are: - Newly diagnosed with cancer - Having treatment for cancer - Recovering from cancer - Living with Cancer - Experiencing long term effects after cancer - Friends, family or colleagues - Healthcare Professionals Specialist staff are available to offer advice and a listening ear. There are also a wide range of support services available, including individual or group support and information sessions. We offer counselling sessions for patients and their carers, run by qualified and student counsellors. Please give us a call or drop in during our opening hours to find out more. We also have Information Centres based in the Haematology/Oncology Department, and in the Woodlands Centre in Hinchingbrooke. We are supported by volunteers, and able to offer student counselling placements.

Mr. James Carmichael is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in surgery of the foot, ankle, knee and all aspects of trauma orthopaedics. James Carmichael was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Trust in May 2010. His clinical practice covers surgery of the foot, ankle and knee and all aspects of trauma orthopaedics.He graduated form Nottingham University Medical School with a Bachelor of Medical Science (II.i) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He went on to complete his basic surgical rotation in the Nottingham and Derby area. In 2002 he moved to the Winchester area where he undertook his higher surgical training in the Wessex region. During this period he also gained an MSc with distinction in Orthopaedic Engineering at Cardiff University and gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (London).
