There is a difference between the two: Refurbished VS Remanufactured Though people often use the terms interchangeably, they are very different. While refurbishing includes only cleaning and replacing worn out parts, remanufacturing includes more. It requires that each part of the product is carefully checked for integrity and wear and if required replaced to adhere to the original manufacturer's factory specifications. There are specific requirements that have to be met before a component can be labeled as remanufactured. When you buy a remanufactured component, you are getting a part that is equivalent to buying a new part but at a lower cost than a new one.
