Subfloor preparation comes first

A new floor is only as good as the base under it. Every quote follows a survey of the subfloor: what it is made of, how flat and dry it is, and whether it moves. We level concrete with smoothing compound, overlay timber with plywood, fix loose boards, replace swollen chipboard and apply damp-proof membranes where readings call for it.

Written, itemised quotes

Your quote lists each part of the job on its own line: uplift and disposal of the old floor, subfloor preparation, underlay or adhesive, fitting, stairs, and trims and thresholds.
