BA Art and Design Degree
BA honours Degree in Art and Design, Textiles, Fine Art, Interior Architecture, Graphic Design, Painting, Illustration, Photography Structure of the programme The Degree programme comprises two phases: Phase 1: Foundation phase (typically takes one year full-time, two years part-time) Phase 2: Degree phase (typically takes three years full-time, 5 years part-time) Progression: MA Masters Degree in Art and Design or entry to creative industries Entry requirements: 1 x A level at grade A* - C in art and design or related discipline plus 1 x GCSE/IGCSE at grade A* - C in English. Applications from mature students are welcomed - no formal qualifications required but will require evidence of writing ability. The College takes into consideration alternative qualifications and relevant work experience. Tutors: Fully qualified and experienced art and design tutors. Course summary The course assumes you have an interest in and that you produce art, craft or design work yourself. The course supports students in providing assessment evidence in four key areas: understanding the influences on visul artists' work recognising the qualities in visual artists' work recognising influences on your own visual artwork understanding of materials and media in developing your own visual artwork Course requirements You will need to communicate with your tutor and fellow students and so a computer with broadband connection is essential. You will also need headphones and microphone for interactive virtual classroom sessions. A digital camera with USB lead or card reader will be necessary to send your tutor photographs of your creations. Apart from the ICT requirements you will of course need art making materials. You don't have to spend a fortune as almost anything can be recycled into art so scout around. Costs and payment options Cost of course tuition: Phase 1: GBP 2000 or *GBP 99 per month over 20 months (International students pay the same) *Phase 2: GBP 7500 or *GBP 125 per month over 5 years (International students pay the same) * if you already have 3 A levels including one in art and design you may not require phase 1 as you can go straight on to degree phase.
