Ted Coney's Family Portraits is a cross between an art gallery, a museum and Open Studio. Housed in a three hundred year old listed building by the river in Ely is a unique collection of origional oil paintings by artist, Ted Coney.They have been produced over forty years and deal with family life and relationships. Although no work is for sale, Ted Coney will take you on a half hour tour of some of the paintings on a chosen theme and also show you some of the objects that have inspired them.There are eight tours on offer with one being on the ground floor for those who cannot manage stairs. Before the tour you will get a chance to view an introductory film about Ted Coney's Family Portraits and see an exhibition of photoraphs of six generations of the family. Your tour will finish with a look into Ted Coney's studio to see the latest work in progress. The cost of the visit is £3 per person and it is advisable to book by phone or e-mail as only six people can be admitted at a time.
