When a baby struggles with feeding this may be due to a tongue-tie where the tissue under the tongue is too short and restricts movement. Tongue-ties happen in about one in every 100 babies and it can be easily treated by an oral surgeon or pediatrician if identified before six months of age. This is a quick and painless procedure that can lead to improved breastfeeding for mom and baby.
