It is important to know that not all veterinary practices are the same. The vast majority of veterinary practices are graded as General Practice and there are approximately 300 in Scotland. The highest standard of practice, such as Alora, is graded as Veterinary Hospital. There are only 8 of those in Scotland and Alora is the only one in Central Scotland outside of Glasgow and Edinburgh. One of the most important aspects of being a Veterinary Hospital is that we have members of staff on the premises 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These members of the veterinary team are specifically responsible for the care and observation of any in-patients.
