York Light Opera is run by a of eleven, overseen by a Board of Directors, who are responsible for the selection of shows, appointment of Producers, Musical Directors & Choreographers and the general administration and financial running of the Company York Light Opera Society was formed in 1953 to perform the challenging new musicals of the time In 2003 we became York Light Opera Company Limited for financial reasons, although we remain an amateur group
