March Rotary update
We have had a busy month both socially and with regards to our support of charities. We firstly enjoyed an evening of skittles, with a fish and chip supper, raising over £100 for the air ambulance and local charities. We then had an informal meeting and tasty meal at the Knighton Hotel, with a raffle raising money to support Rotary’s ongoing efforts to eradicate polio across the world. We were pleased to have two excellent speakers – Jay Tate from the Space Guard Centre in Knighton www.spaceguarduk.com and Andrea Newman from DebRA – the charity which support those with Epidermolysis Bullosa ( "EB" - a genetic skin blistering disease ). We have been donating money to DebRA for a number of years and it was good to hear that various new treatments were being trialled and that research for a cure is ongoing. We were delighted to make charitable donations to both Jay and Andrea to support the work they are doing in their chosen fields.
