SEPA has been advising Scottish ministers, regulated businesses, industry and the public on environmental best practice for over a decade Made by the Scottish Government, the Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations 2012 (PPC 2012) came into force earlier this week, replacing the previous regime from 2000, and will be enforced by SEPA We protect communities by regulating activities that can cause harmful pollution and by monitoring the quality of Scotland's air We also publish a wide range of publications and environmental reports We do this by being an excellent environmental regulator, helping business and industry to understand their environmental responsibilities, enabling customers to comply with legislation and good practice and to realise the many economic benefits of good environmental practice
