Even though it is a well-known term, people often do not fully understand what it means. Dyslexia is a physical difference in the structure of the brain, and as such affects somebody's learning. Though classified as a disability it is not something wrong with an individual, it is just that their thought processes work differently. The most common problem that a dyslexic may have is a difficulty with learning to read, write and spell. It is also common to have short term memory and organisation difficulties, however if you are dyslexic you may also be exceedingly creative or gifted in other ways.
