Barfield Self-Catering Holiday Cottages comprise: Penderrow that sleeps 12+ and Cherry Tree Cottage that sleeps 6 so combined can cater for 18 people (adults and children). Located in North Cornwall's beautiful rural countryside near the North Cornwall/Devon border approx. 50/60 minute drive from Exeter and Plymouth or Newquay International Airport. Nestled amidst glorious north Cornish countryside, yet just 7 miles from the rugged breath-taking Heritage coastline at Crackington Haven, these delightful cottages are the perfect choice for family and friends to enjoy a holiday or celebration or just to escape and relax in this tranquil location. Penderrow (a bit like the Tardis, appears small on the outside yet big inside) sleeps up to twelve people in five bedrooms and is ideal for individual families or groups of twelve, Cherry Tree Cottage caters for 6 in three bedrooms offering a unique two sitting rooms so all the family can watch what they want on one of the two TV's. Combined (subject to availability) they can accommodate holidaying parties of up to 18 people. Why not book it for special occasions such as Easter, Christmas and New Year celebrations. The combined cottages have proved particularly popular for special birthday celebrations, anniversaries and farewell parties. Wedding and engagement parties are also welcome. Our stables next door are a great attraction for young and old, and guests can even bring their horse on holiday as livery is available but by prior arrangement. There are also our Sheep, rare breed Pigs (Thelma and Louise) with their piglets, Ducks and special variety Chickens, (Lambs and Piglets will depend on the time of your visit). We are proud of our special feature, a shared indoor heated swimming pool (see photos etc on our web site) with changing room and adult relaxation area refurbished April 12. This is just a short walk from the cottages as is the use of a shared games room nearby so there is plenty to keep everyone entertained. A booking system may operate in busier times for both pool and games room. Fabulous beaches and breath-taking coastal paths are in abundance. The wide, sandy beach and rolling breakers of Widemouth Bay are just a 15-minute drive where you will also find a fresh fish shop and The Bay View Inn or alternatively try Crackington Haven, a delightful, unspoilt cove with dramatic cliffs, beach cafes and village inn. Dramatically perched on the north Cornish coast, Bude is incredibly popular year round and yet manages to retain its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone and has an excellent selection of shops and restaurants, many offering local seafood. The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club (one of Cornwall's finest) along with stunning coastal and country walks, tennis, horse riding, mountain boarding, surfing and fishing are all on offer here.
